Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism Palette Gives You Ultra Chic Fall Looks Galore!
If you’re looking for a palette to give you some bold and daring Fall looks, then you definitely need to grab the Anastasia Prism Palette. When this palette debuted, people were super excited about the variety in tones and the buttery soft, pigments featured in this palette. I’ve seen some really great looks created with this palette which includes some really out of the box color combos that I would have never thought to use.
The cons of this palette are that it’s pricey. However, as I’ve often discussed, sometimes it’s worth it to splurge a little and go Prestige with some of the eyeshadow palettes we purchase. I tend to count this under the self-care section of living, and treating ourselves is definitely a form of self-care that we tend to forget about.
Also, if you’re an aspiring makeup artist, then it would serve well to have a few prestige palettes in your collection. For those seeking to further their makeup artistry skills, it’s important to know a wide range of products, their back story, and how they function. You never know where your skills will take you and what job you’ll end up with, so I find that being prepared is better than only focusing on one brand or one type of palette.
One of my guilty pleasures is identifying shade names and tones. For this, I went to the ABH website for the official names and shade descriptions of the Prism Palette:
Lucid: Duo chrome white gold with pink reflect
Eden: Ultra-matte coral pink
Unity: Ultra-matte nude ochre
Sphinx: Metallic warm bronze
Osiris: Metallic midnight violet with red reflect
Sphere: Ultra-matte electric green-yellow
Obsidian: Ultra-matte deep black
Dimension: Duo chrome silver-grey with pink reflect
Parallel: Ultra-matte truffle
Pyramid: Metallic yellow gold with green reflect
Throne: Metallic blackened blue-green with multicolor reflect
Saturn: Ultra-matte terracotta
Eternal: Metallic violet copper
Lure: Ultra-matte ashy lilac
I visited a beauty blog called “The Styling Dutchman” for tips on how to create some stylish looks with the ABH Prism Palette. She has created several beautiful styles. The first style ( pictured above ) is Dimension on the lid, Lure in the Crease and Obsidian in the outer color. Dimension is her favorite shade in the palette and I can see why. It’s beautiful and unique.
For her second look, she uses Throne all over the lid, Eden in the crease, Lucid in the inner corner and a touch of Obsidian to smoke out the edges. She also comments in her article that Throne doesn’t need a primer underneath to retain its pigmentation and sparkle. That is a huge plus, because we’ve all had glitter shadow fails so this seems to be a winner.
This look is my favorite. She used Lure and Parallel on the edges and Eternal in the mid eyelid area. She made a really great decision pairing Eternal with mattes to make it stand out more and have a slight smokey finish.
